This latest app version is a case of changing for the sake of change. The older version was near perfect. This one is very hard to navigate and use.- This app version makes content so large it doesn’t fit the phone’s screen. – It lumps watchlist percentage and dollar changes together (killing the separate columns)… which is visually confusing.- It attempts to group content into categories, which are now all over the map, and redundant.- The market tab was removed from the bottom, which used to be a cool feature, enabling the ability to pull it up or hide it on call. The new app fixes it to the top of the screen in huge font, taking up a third of the screen, with no way to hide it. And it sorts the data differently depending on time of day. Trying to make it intuitive backfires here because you can’t depend on where to find it.- The watchlist has a bug that resorts the extended hour pricing randomly.- The old app was great because it simply did what it was supposed to, which is critical when trading is time sensitive. This one wastes valuable seconds as you hunt did info that used to be at your fingertips.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We strive to listen carefully to our customers and feedback like yours helps us to continuously improve our products and services. We will make sure that your thoughts are shared with the mobile apps team. Thanks again!

The charting changed a few weeks back and it was a significant downgrade. I have used this app extensively for years. The charts were not amazing but very functional on a daily basis. The new charts, at least on my iPad, do not show the the most recent day. For awhile the small chart on the data page for a stock would show the current day but when I go to the full sized chart it is two days back??? Now even the small chart is two days back. Went to App Store and saw an update was available. Did the update. Same thing. Same style chart is used on yahoo and theirs work so come on. Also the standard deviation should use all of the data from the designated period and put a line on the chart, like it did before. A standard deviation is then a straight line and you can see where deviations in the data occur. The standard deviation now shows as a line below the chart and is apparently calculated over some unknown periods as it is not a straight line. Also can no longer select the moving averages I want I.e. 10 day 20 day etc. stuck with your choices and an envelope of unspecified numbers of days. Many other complaints but at least get it to the current day. All in all from very good to lame. If it doesn’t change I will be looking for a new app to use.

I’ve used the CNBC iPad app for about a year in the mornings to stay updated on the markets and watch the news while I get ready or go through morning routines. There is rarely a morning where I don’t spend ~5+ minutes resetting the app or re-launching the video. 1) Anytime there is a commercial, the application loses the broadcast and video stops, resulting in permanent loss of playback until the app is exited and re-launched. 2) Picture in picture is even worse, loses playback once about every 15 or 20 minutes. 3) The app cannot keep track of my TV provider credentials. It will show me logged in, then only play 10min of preview content, then ask me to login again. After a (pull down) refresh on the watch tab, the credentials are back magically but it takes -minutes- to resume playback. -When it works- the app is overall great, but CNBC developers have a long way to go for a consistent experience with video. Happy to run betas or participate in bug reporting program as I have some experience with iOS apps several years back.

CNBC is the recognized world leader in business news and provides real-time financial market coverage and business content consumed by more than 355 million people per month across all platforms.

If you are familiar with the leading global business news networks, the name CNBC should not be new to you. It ranks alongside Bloomberg TV, NDTV Profit, and ET Now.

Away from the news channel, have you heard of the CNBC Pro service, and you are wondering what it is all about? In brief, we can tell you that you will gain access to a daily newsletter, live streams of CNBC programming, and video clips once you subscribe to the service.

Before you decide to invest in this program, check out the detailed review we have done below so that you can see what it has to offer.

This is a premium service by the globally acclaimed CNBC news network. As a subscriber, you will gain access to various features such as exclusive news stories, a live stream of CNBC’s programming, a daily newsletter, and video clips.

However, we were set back slightly by the pricing, which we thought to be too steep. This is because there are some features that you could easily access through the free package, a streaming service, or a cable subscription.

Before we get to what it would cost you to subscribe to this service, let us see its main features so that you can decide whether it is worth the price tag.

In this section, we shall discuss what you will get access to once you subscribe to the service.

The first feature we shall look at is the newsletter, which the service sends out every morning. In simple terms, a newsletter is a roundup of the major news stories of the day by the network.

This tool’s main advantage is that it gives you a heads-up of the market before each trading day commences. Even better is that it may take you less than a minute to browse through it.

The stories are prefaced by a letter from one of the news network’s reporters and summarize the biggest stories for the investors.

This next feature allows you to access a stream of CNBC’s live television programming. In addition to what the US broadcast television viewers are seeing, you will also get the option of viewing the network’s programming in Asia and Europe.

Note that you could always stream CNBC online with a cable subscription that features the channel. However, it may be a disadvantage to you if you are interested in the overseas market since there would be no Asian or European programming.

The network comes with other streaming services such as SlingTV, Hulu, and fuboTV.

Another highlight of this service is the access to premium news stories and news videos that it offers the subscribers. Most of the videos are short and last between 5-10 minutes and are mainly exclusive interviews with analysts and fund managers.

The videos are normally divided into different categories, including news, investing trends, and “Follow the Pros,” which features interviews with fund managers and prominent investors.

We noticed little or no difference between the stories and videos that you get in CNBC pro and the free service. A closer look would tell you there are no topics or writers specific to the paid service.

When it comes to customization, we felt that it was a major let down by the service. CNBC Pro does not allow you to customize the platform as per your preference.

So, if you wanted to set up alerts for stories on specific companies, select market selectors, or use a watchlist to tailor your news feed, you may be disappointed with the service.

It will cost you $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year to access the features that CNBC Pro offers. On top of that, you could sign up for the 7-day free trial so that you can decide whether the service is worth investing in or not.

From what we have seen, there is little that sets apart the premium service (CNBC Pro) from the free service ( The highlight of this service is the live stream of the network’s television programming, but you could also access this through other streaming services or cable providers that contain the channel.

However, the analysis offered by expert business reporters is not something that is guaranteed with other business news networks out there.

A close analysis of the content that CNBC offers would tell you that the network mainly focuses on medium-term market trends. So, if you are an active investor dedicated to carrying out your own research, this service may be perfect for you.

Further, any short or medium-term investor who is yet to access CNBC live stream through any other service may also find CNBC Pro to be very useful.

This is an amazing service that may be a worthwhile investment. However, it has its own share of drawbacks. In this section, we shall state the advantages and disadvantages of the service in brief.

CNBC is one of the leading business news networks globally, so there is no reason to doubt the legitimacy of any service related to the network. With CNBC Pro, you can access features such as a daily newsletter and exclusive news stories and videos.

However, we feel that the $299.99 per year subscription plan is too steep. This is because you can access some of these features via CNBC TV or other similar services such as Benzinga or Hulu.

You could always complement what this service offers with other platforms such as Motley Fool Stock Advisor to get more value out of it.

So, if you feel like this service has more to offer than what the channel on your cable subscription package does, go for it. Maybe the information you get here may give you an edge over other investors in your sector of interest.
